The Top 100 DJs Poll 2010 Official Results

The Top 100 DJs Poll 2010 Official Results! - News: "The waiting is finally over and we can now officially announce the results of The Top 100 DJs Poll 2010."

With all the new acts on the scene it's surprising to see Armin at #1. And although Guetta is ground-breaking and revolutionizing the industry (helping to bring electronic music to America), I don't think he should be #2. Looking for Diplo and Rusko, but I can't find them. Nice to see Wolfgang entering the charts but he should definitely be higher up (closer to the top 25) after seeing him at Electric Zoo. What do you think?

Excluding the Underaged - New Law in Burlington Wreaks Havoc

http://www.vermontcynic.com/news/excluding-the-underaged-1.2380862

I don't know about any other students of UVM past or present, but one of the main reasons I attended was because of the vibrant music scene in and around the Burlington area. It is my personal opinion that people of any age should be allowed to attend a music event, but with this new law certain events will be restricted to 21+.

Really?! Why should someone have to be of legal drinking age just to enjoy some live music? (Why should someone even have to be 18?) Not only that, but having graduated with a degree in entrepreneurship, I realize the impact of losing a huge portion of a business' customer base. The big picture wasn't considered by the police, nor were residents of the community/business owners consulted. Burlington will lose money, employees will be put out of work, and people under 21 will have a shitty time. I don't understand why Burlington is all up in arms about the drinking situation. I've said this before and I'll say it again: Burlington is a college town. Spoiler alert: In this college town there are....colleges! What do students do at college to let loose on the weekends (or during the week)? They drink, they party, they have a good time. Some of them do it more responsibly than others, but regardless, it's going to happen. If people under 21 can't go to a supervised club or show, they will go be reckless at some house party or worse. Or, they'll take their talents to Montreal, netting that city even more money and tiny ol' Burlington loses out.

If anyone is reading this in the Burlington area, please do what you can to get this ridiculous law changed. I'm glad I graduated when I did because as much as I loved UVM and that area as a whole things have just been going down hill....since the beginning of my sophomore year (2007-2008 school year). Labor day weekend that year about every party I tried to attend was broken up by the cops. Things haven't been the same since. Thumbs down.

JESUS LUZ - AROUND THE WORLD (original mix)

I mean if you like hot girls dancing on stage...

Reminds me of Wolfgang Gartner or Deadmau5 with more of a House feel than a Progressive House feel and if you don't like it you can kiss my whole ass hole.

Theme Song of the Week: Pretty Lights - Out Of Time

Didn't have any intention of posting two Pretty Lights songs in a row but I couldn't help myself. With the debut of his latest EP, I listened to this song all weekend. I want to throw on a song I heard at Royale Saturday night but I can't remember any of them because they were mashups I'd never heard before. I think this song has taken over favorite of the EP (previously Gold Coast Hustle).

Pretty Lights - Gold Coast Hustle [Glowing In The Darkest Night]

My early favorite off Pretty Lights' newest EP "Glowing in the Darkest Night." Quality could be better, but this is the best I found so far. I'm wondering if he's referring to the Gold Coast of Australia, which was one of my favorite places when studying there a couple years ago. PL comes to Boston November 5th and I'm amped for it. In related news, Royale tonight for my birthday celebration (which is on Tuesday). Hollaaa

Daft Punk Join Phoenix at MSG

http://pitchfork.com/news/40466-daft-punk-join-phoenix-at-madison-square-garden/

Daft Punk? Pioneers in electronic music. They're also elusive as shit and no one knows a damn thing about what they're up to. Rumors have been swirling about them touring in the US in the next year or so and they're composing the new Tron soundtrack. It's sick that they can come out randomly during a show and make the place go nuts. I bet no one at the Phoenix show expected this to happen. Maybe they'll come out at the next Phish show and do "Harder Better Faster Stronger Bathtub Gin"...

Sam Adams - Hold On (produced by Rusko) (With Download Link)

Listen, I hate Sam Adams as much as the next person, but I'll give him props for this. If you know me you know Hold On (remix) by Rusko is one of my favorite songs to date. I think it's really cool that Sam Adams chose to spit over this song and I have to admit his flow is pretty tight. Don't get me wrong, I don't plan on going out and getting every Sam Adams track in existence, but this one is worth mentioning.

Kobe Vs. Lebron, 1-on-1: Who Wins?

http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/news/story?id=5680638

This is a tough call. As the article states, it's your typical 1-on-1 rules and players call their own fouls. Putting aside my personal preferences/opinions on Kobe & Lebron as people (Kobe plays for the Lakers & rapes women, Lebron quit on Cleveland and made a circus out of his decision), and looking at them from a basketball skill set point of view, I could weigh a couple different options. My first instinct is to say Kobe wins. I think he might be the better post-up player with the better jump shot/turn-around jumper. But Lebron is like a brick wall - he is stronger and faster (and younger). If Lebron takes it to the hole each time he will win (keep in mind players call their own fouls. If refs are involved Kobe wins hands down). Problem is, this is winners' ball, so if Kobe gets hot I don't think he'll miss a shot and could throw down jumpers to win it all. Kobe's jumpers vs Lebron's power moves, 3-pointers count, I'm going to say Kobe barely wins. I hate myself.

My Dream Job

I've always said if I could play drums for a big name rapper/singer my life would be an accomplishment. Let me drum for Jay-Z and I'm dooooooone.

This Week's Theme Song of the Week: La Roux 'In For The Kill' - Skrillex remix

I've heard many remixes of In for the Kill, one of my favorites being by Glitch Mob. But when my friend Mike played this for me and melted my face off, I had to share it.

NBA 2K11 - MJ's Greatest Moments

Tell Mama Rondo!

NBA 2K11 Premiere Trailer

I'm not even going to talk about the Randy Moss trade (good luck kid), but how bout NBA 2K11 featuring the greatest of all time Michael Jordan? I can't tell you the last time I played an NBA video game but this shit looks sick.
