Weak simile there, but the point is Russ Chimes is getting huge and Cam uses his air mattress every weekend - see the comparison? Not for lack of effort with this parallel I'm trying to draw, but I will admit I am still in a haze from an awesome weekend.

Thanks to Brian Hanna for directing my attention to this British house/new wave producer, who also has tons of remixes out there. Really digging the sound of this guy and seems like he might be the next big thing to happen with electronic music.

Fuck Yeah Friday: Tritonal feat. Cristina Soto - Lifted (Mat Zo Remix)

I know what you're thinking: "is this kid really putting a trance song up here??" Well, yeah I am. Trance is probably my least favorite sub-genre of electronic music because, well, it's kind of gay (and no offense to gay people reading this but I'm sure you get what I'm saying). This beat, however, is crazy. Minus the vocals this track has some deep bass and I love it.

This was the opening track of the Trance Around the World podcast (#358). I like to check in on these from time to time to see what Above & Beyond are spinning because it's pretty much my only source for trance...when I'm in the mood for it.

For a lacking electronic dance music scene in Boston, this guy is a rare gem. Occupying a residency at Bill's Bar (the side room of Landsdowne Pub on Landsdowne St.) every Friday and Saturday night from 10pm-2am, DJ Spiezio spins some great electronic tunes that you likely won't hear at any other Boston bars. I was fortunate enough to meet him and grab his CD. Needless to say I hope to return at least once a week to see what he's been cooking up. Rusko tears it up every time, but I'm even more excited to see Doorly, who I have only recently been introduced to (his Essential Mix is pretty hefty). I'm sure this show will be crazy after seeing Rusko at Ultra, on such a big stage.
