Dodge & Fuski Are So Hot Right Now

Latest tracks by Dodge & Fuski

These guys are blowing up the dubstep scene right now. "Pornstep" and "Go Nuts" are two highlights, but it's all worth listening to.

Monday Throwback: Outkast - Xplosion

Unfortunately this was the best quality I could find. Featuring B-Real of Cypress Hill.

FUCK YEAH it's Friday: Freefire - Dataloss (Darth & Vader Remix)

Had to repost this because the last video was removed from YouTube.

Thanks to DJ Mikey Mike (Mike Mastrangelo...I just kind of made that up) for showing me this gem.

Mike will be DJing a party this coming Friday so if you're looking for a ridiculous time hit me up for more info.

Umphrey's Mcgee - Come Closer Together

Umphrey's McGee straight up killed it last night at the House of Blues in Boston. The highlight had to have been the Beatles' "Come Together" mashed up with Nine Inch Nails' "Closer." It was flawless, fun to sing to, and got the crowd moving. This is not a video I took, but since UM has performed it before I was able to find a video on YouTube.

Duck Sauce - Barbra Streisand (Darth & Vader Remix)

Darth & Vader straight up murdered this track. Barbra Streisand is one of those songs that just doesn't get old. D&V took the elements that made it awesome and added their own twist -- this has to be my favorite version besides the original.

Break Science - The Alliance ft. Talib Kweli

Pretty Lights Music, the record label, is blowing up. Two new additions occurred recently, with producers Break Science (Adam Deitch and Borahm Lee) and Paper Diamonds (Alex B). This comes less than a year after Michal Menert's EP was released on the label. All three artists were hand-picked by label owner and dope producer Derek Vincent Smith (aka Pretty Lights). The label is truly a collection of dope beats, samples, and synths, yet each artist remains unique. For example, Break Beats features lyricists such as the legendary Talib Kweli.

The best thing about all the music from these artists is that it's available for free download at www.prettylightsmusic.com with the option to make a donation for each. I highly recommend you check out the rest of the music because it's too good to be passed up, especially Michal Menert's stuff.

Yelawolf ft. Juelz Santana - Mixin' up the Medicine Remix

I might be a little late getting on the Yela Wolf train, but this kid can spit fire. He represents Southern Hip Hop and adds a new flavor to it. Off the mixtape Trunk Muzik

Tiësto vs. Diplo ft. Busta Rhymes - C'mon (Catch 'Em By Surprise)

A new twist on a huge song from 2010. The original had 0% Busta and more of a trance feel to it. Now, with Busta's flow, this song has a lot more drive and personally I think it's better. Love the crossing over of genres and since Diplo is the man I gotta support this track. Tiesto, well, I could live without him but if he's teaming with Diplo & Busta I'll take it.

Monday Throwback: The Roots - Act Too (Love of my Life) ft. Common

This might be one of my favorite hip hop songs of all time. And I say that meaning among my top 50 or so. Any true hip hop fan knows Things Fall Apart is a phenomenal album, but I guarantee this is one of the most overlooked tracks on it because of better-known songs like "Adrenaline" and "You Got Me (ft. Eryka Badu)." What you have here is a chilled out beat with great flow by Black Thought and special guest Common. It's about their love for the genre and it's flawless.

This week is off to a sub-par start; hopefully listening to the legendary Roots crew brightens up your day.

FUCK Yeah It's Friday! Feed Me - Grand Theft Ecstasy

The newest addition to Mau5trap Records, apparently his name is Gooch which is just awesome. Future professional DJ/producer and good friend of mine Mike Mastrangelo turned me on to this. It's fire and should get your weekend started right.

Talk about a video going viral. Saw this on Barstool and had to repost; it's just too good.

Wanna see my Danny Woodhead?

Nyle "Let The Beat Build"

Wow.

From the site: "#4 ON SPIN MAGAZINE'S 20 BEST MUSIC VIDEOS OF 2009: http://tiny.cc/mgibt

This video was filmed in one shot, with audio being recorded simultaneously with the video. The video features Nyle and is produced by Last Pictures and 194 Recordings (www.myspace.com/194recordings)"

Dylan Elise, Worlds greatest drummer?

This was a StumbleUpon find, and yes I wish he was wearing a shirt. If I see a drumming video that particularly impresses me, it's going to be posted on here. If only I could make a living sitting on the street playing the drums and having people in ridiculous costumes dance to my work (and all the girls appearing isn't bad either). Word on the street is this guy is from New Zealand. I don't know if he's the world's greatest drummer as the video says, but he's got skills.

Giant banana for the win.

I Miss the 90s

Marky Mark & the Funky Bunch @ 1991 MTV Rock'N'Jock B-Ball Jam

I'm not gonna lie - I used to love the Rock' N' Jock games, back when MTV played music and was on top of the pop culture world. Marky Mark killin it, all the early 90s stars are there (Magic, Urkle, Fresh Prince, Vlade Divac (!!)). Even the ref was gettin down. Good music, good style, good times.

Monday Throwback: Common - A Dream ft. Will.I.Am

Pretty appropriate given today being MLK day. Look for me 3 rows behind Tommy and Mike at the Celtics game tonight

Fuck Yeah It's Friday! Bassnectar - The Arrival FT KRS ONE and Heavyweight Dub Champion

KRS-One remixed into some dubstep rubs me the right way. BassNectar, in general, is hit or miss for me. The ten minutes of his Electric Zoo set I saw bored me, but I'll be checking him out when the womp womp comes to Boston in April. Happy Friday, do something stupid.

This is bad. Im actually excited for the return of Jersey Shore Tonight. Steve Angello - Tivoli (Original Mix)

How bout some good ol' fashioned House music to celebrate SEASON THREE of Jersey Shore. Did we think it would happen? No. Was I 100% against watching this show when it first started airing? Yes. Have I now seen every episode? Yes.

It's that show we all love to hate and hate to love...excited to see how this "Four-foot meatball" is going to change the dynamic of the house. Good riddance Angelina.

By the way, I really like Steve Angello.

This Got Lost in the Crates: Ozomatli - Cut Chemist Suite

Remember Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3? Yeah, I still own it. And these guys are actually really dope. A live band featuring Chali 2Na and Cut Chemist - yes please. Look up the song "O Le Le" as well. I would have posted it here but the quality was pretty shotty.

Ear Grips: Do People Actually Find These Attractive??

I know I use my blog primarily as a way to share music, but every so often I need to get something off my chest. Today's rant is about these so-called "Ear Grips." I'm not sure if I've seen these things before I was knee-deep in the daily routine of corporate America and winter rolled around this year. After all, I went to college the past four years, where I was surrounded by people with style (for the most part), especially at UVM - a place that lives for its snowboard culture. In my 23 years of living it has always been about winter HATS, whatever your particular style of such may be.

I commute by train to work in Boston. In January, the weather in Boston is cold. So what do I do? I reach for my winter hat. What do others do? They reach for their Ear Grips. Really?? Do people actually think these things are attractive? I can't say I have found a more foolish-looking or ugly piece of head-wear and they could possibly be the worst accessory I've ever seen. Oh, so you work in a professional office where your appearance matters? So go to the bathroom and comb your hair. Maybe you could buy a winter headband -  at least those don't look as foolish. If you're one of the dozens of people I see wearing these things everyday, know that I am making fun of you. That is all.

From the Guys Who Brought You "We No Speak Americano": Yolanda Be Cool - Afro Nuts (DCUP Remix)

Hilariously catchy song by the Australian guys who brought you "We No Speak Americano," which if you haven't heard by now, you're living under a rock. They will be at Webster Hall at the end of January...the question is, will I?

Fatboy Slim VS. Duck Sauce - WTF Barbra Streisand (Inphinity Bootleg)

Monday is almost over. Celebrate.

Theme Song of the Week: DJ Fresh - Gold Dust (Flux Pavilion Remix) | HD 1080p

This song has been beat to death but there is no other one that is fitting enough for Theme Song of the Week. Epic New Years Eve @ Webster Hall. Clearly dedicated to Cam Harris (womp womp psssshhhh).

Monday Throwback: Outkast - Elevator (Me & You)

Need a nice mellow one today. You know you had a good New Years when it takes you 3 days to recover...
